Crossbow CenterPoint Sinister 430D: Review, Price and Full Test
Full ReviewCenterPoint Archery is a real, confirmed crossbow brand carrying seven current models on its own site, ranging from a $59.99 youth recurve crossbow up to an $899.99 compound hunting crossbow. "Centerpoint crossbows" pulls 3,600 monthly searches on its own, with "centerpoint crossbow" adding 2,900 more and "centerpoint archery" a further 590, real, confirmed demand for this brand specifically.
CenterPoint's Positioning
CenterPoint frames its crossbows around heritage and craftsmanship rather than pure technology specs. The brand's own site describes its bows as "forged from generations of know-how handed down through hunters," built on "the wisdom of a thousand archers who've come before," with each unit "built with care, using tough-as-nails components". That's marketing language, worth naming as such, but it does reflect a real positioning choice: CenterPoint sells itself as a traditional, hunter-focused brand rather than a tech-first one, even as its current lineup includes genuinely modern features like silent cocking systems and CNC-machined cams.
The Real CenterPoint Crossbow Lineup
CenterPoint's own crossbow category page confirms seven current models :

| Amped G2D | $699.99 | 430 fps | Not published |
| Sinister 430D | $799.99 | Up to 430 fps | Not published |
| Hellion 400 | $899.99 | Up to 400 fps | 185 lbs |
| Hellion 400 (Factory Re-Conditioned) | $449.99 (regular $899.99) | Up to 400 fps | 185 lbs |
| Sniper G4D | $499.99 | Not yet confirmed | Not yet confirmed |
| AT400 | $349.99 (currently out of stock) | Up to 400 fps | 200 lbs |
| Hornet Recurve Crossbow | $59.99 sale / $89.99 regular | Not yet confirmed | Not yet confirmed |
Four of these models, the Amped G2D, Sinister 430D, Hellion 400, and AT400, are fully spec'd on CenterPoint's own product pages, and each gets its own dedicated review on this site. The Sniper G4D and Hornet are real, currently listed products with confirmed prices, but their full spec pages weren't yet fetched at the time of this research, so we're not making claims about their performance beyond price until that's confirmed.
CenterPoint's real crossbow lineup spans $59.99 to $899.99 across seven models, with four fully spec'd compound crossbows (Amped G2D, Sinister 430D, Hellion 400, AT400) each reviewed in detail on this site.
What Actually Separates These Four Models
Looking at the four fully spec'd compound crossbows together, two real clusters emerge. The Amped G2D and Sinister 430D share an identical 430 fps and 164 ft-lbs kinetic energy rating, but differ in cocking mechanism (a silent sled against a fully integrated crank) and stock design (fixed composite against an adjustable bullpup). Neither publishes a draw weight, which is a real, confirmed gap in CenterPoint's own product information for both models.
The Hellion 400 and AT400 form the second cluster: both rated up to 400 fps, both with a published draw weight (185 lbs and 200 lbs respectively), and both slower on paper than the Amped G2D/Sinister 430D pair. Within that pair, the AT400 is the notable outlier on value: at $349.99, less than half the Hellion 400's $899.99, it includes a full scope-and-quiver kit that the Hellion 400's own listing doesn't confirm, and it carries the higher of the two draw weights. The real catch with the AT400 is availability, CenterPoint's own site shows it out of stock as of this research.
The four fully reviewed models split into a faster, draw-weight-unpublished pair (Amped G2D, Sinister 430D) and a slower, draw-weight-published pair (Hellion 400, AT400), with the AT400 standing out as the strongest confirmed value once stock is accounted for.
